A dog's life

Yanks RV Resort
Greenfield, CA

We're becoming those kind of people.
Not the kind that posts tons of pictures of
their grandkids..
..the kind of people who post dog pictures :-)

He's just so darn cute!
Loves to sleep on his back.

On another note, it's been so cold here!
We got snow down to 1500' feet!

But then there's Cooper :-)

Cooper had his first appointment with the vet.
He sat very nicely on the scale, weighing in at 2.8 pounds.

We signed up for a Wellness Plan at Banfield Pet Hospital.
They are in all the Petsmart locations throughout the country.
He loved riding in the cart as we shopped for all things puppy.

On the advice from George's daughter,
we ordered a cool dog tag from Dog Tag Art
Isn't it perfect?

Part of the wellness plan includes visits anytime
that there are questions or concerns.
Cooper woke up yesterday just not himself.
He was lethargic, not eating, sleeping all day.
We took him up, and they tested him for Parvo,
which is a horrible virus for dogs.
He tested negative and we were happy to hear that.
The vet told us that puppies get upset tummies a lot,
so she thinks that's all it is.
She prescribed some wet food for intestinal disorders.
This morning he's a little more active,
so we're hoping the best.

Before you know it he'll be back to his old self.

Today I'm going up to Salinas to go with Mom to her accountant.
Tax time!

Year of the Dog...

Yanks RV Resort
Greenfield, CA

When we started full timing 6 years ago,
we both said we wouldn't get a fur baby.
I've never had a dog, only cats,
and George said 'he did his time' with dogs.

Well...

Meet Cooper! (Mini Cooper :-)
He's a Maltipoo.

Norma's sister's dog had puppies back in December,
and I'd been vying for one since.
Since we're sitting in California for awhile,
I figured it was time :-)

He was born on December 20th,
and Norma delivered him to me on Valentine's Day!

He's learning to sleep longer overnight in his crate.
and we're learning his signals to 'do his business'
and get him outside before too many accidents.

George, who initially wasn't on board with this decision,
is warming up to it :-)

We signed up for Petsmart's wellness plan,
which is great!
For a monthly fee, he gets all his shots,
neutering when it's time,
and deworming, flea checks, etc.

They have an unlimited visit policy if we have questions as well.

We'll try not to keep the blog all about Cooper,
but it will be hard!

Life in California is good!

Yanks RV Resort
Greenfield, CA

Lots of things happening here in California.

We've taken a ride over to Monterey..

I got up early enough to see the Super Blood Moon Eclipse..

I cheered my team on to win the Super Bowl..

Sat outside soaking in the sun..

Got the 'Save the Date' notification from Adam & Jen..

Saw the blimp coming..

..and going..from the AT&T Pro-Am golf tournament in Pebble Beach..

I decided to jump on the DNA bandwagon.
No suprises here..
my Mom's side has the Scandinavian side,
and my Dad the European side.

Weather here has been perfect except on Sunday.
We had a terrible dust storm..

I'm still sneezing from it!

We celebrated Adam's 33rd birthday last night.
Almost got the fire department out with all those candles!

Today we're heading north to Greg & Connie's again
George is going to wire their bathroom fan to the switch on the wall.

Life is good!
