Holiday Party at Yanks

Greenfield, CA

Tuesday night we had our annual Yanks Christmas party.
The ham was supplied by the park,
and everyone signed up to bring a side dish,
dessert, or something else to share.

The clubhouse was decorated so nicely!
The tree always looks so great,
especially with the red, white, and blue colors.

Norma and Jodi had the table all decked out too!

As we waited for the rest of the staff to arrive,
we helped ourselves to munchies and drinks.

Presents were brought to do a gift exchange
in the manner of a Yankee swap.

Jodi set up a game using rubber ducks,
advancing them by rolling dice.
Whoever's duck went up and back first
won a prize chosen from our store.

I made some Christmas Cookie Shots to share.
They're made with Knox gelatin, Butterscotch Schnapps,
Tripe Sec, and Bailey's.
Oh they were good :-)

Some of the staff decided to share in a Duke bourbon shot.

We all enjoyed the food and company.
Norma and I got photo bombed by Steve, our boss :-)

Oh and the food!
Green salad, mashed potatoes, broccoli, pasta salad..
rolls, and Daniel's famous mac & cheese.

After we ate, we played some Pictionary..
it was a riot!

We usually take a picture of everyone in front of the tree,
but ended up getting this shot instead..

George, me, Steve, Jodi, Billie, Norma, Rod, Daniel, Robert, Sonia, Laura
Everyone had a terrific time!

Even Cooper came over for some fun :-)

And so another year is coming to a close here at Yanks!

Merry Christmas!

Greenfield, CA

We're all geared up for the Christmas season
here at Yanks RV Resort.

Tomorrow is our Christmas party,
for staff and spouses.

Sunday Austin is flying in from Denver,
and we'll meet up with Adam & Jen
for our traditional Chinese food
Christmas Eve.

George and I bought a wine fridge
to have a place to store our wine correctly.
It fits perfectly by our dining table,
and fits 18 bottles!

Cooper is turning 1 year old on the 20th!
Time sure has flown :-)

A few weeks ago, George and I
put all of Mom's Christmas decorations
up on her shelves.
She has multiple nativity sets
that she has collected over the years.
All are wrapped carefully,
so George had his work cut out for him :-)

I didn't get too motivated for baking this year.
We bought a roll of Pillsbury dough,
and made some cookies.
Not very 'Christmassy', but they were yummy!

Our friends Connie & Greg drove down
last Friday and we all attended
Hahn Winery's Holiday Library tasting.

The tasting room was decorated beautifully.

There was some finger foods,
and some of their finest wines to taste.

We had our pictures taken by the tree..

Merry Christmas to all our family and friends!

Holiday time

Greenfield, CA

Been a lot going on since I last posted.

On Veterans Day we had a flag raising
ceremony at the park.
We asked Lester, one of our monthly guests
to do the honors.

Thanksgiving found us sharing a meal
with Mom and Connie & Greg.
We went to the same place as last year,

The food was great and so was the service.
Adam & Jen had plans with her parents and brother,
but we will spend time together for Christmas.

The park is starting to look festive with decorations.
Jodi put a cute display by the dog park..

..one looks like Cooper, but our Cooper isn't sure
he likes his twin. :-)

George and I put up our little tree today as well.

Cooper loves his new Christmas sweater,
but not too sure about the hood :-)

He's happy looking at the doggies out the window.

We've been getting a good bit of rain here.
The fires that have been north of us are finally out.
There was smoke here for a week or so,
making everything pretty hazy.

Soon the hills will be green!

A surprise visit from friends

Greenfield, CA

I can't believe it's almost Thanksgiving already!
This year is flying by,
but I think I say that often.
We're currently experiencing 'weather for the locals',
as the local news people say.
The tourists for the most part have gone home,
and the coastal temps rise up to the 70's.

We've enjoyed some amazing sunsets lately..

Even Cooper likes looking out the window at them.

Last Thursday, on 11/1, my Mom turned 81!
I drove her over to where Adam works,

We started off with a couple of cocktails,
then I had their fabulous burger,
Mom had an Ahi Tuna salad,
and we shared yummy onion straws.

Adam brought out Creme' Brulee for my Mom,
and I had a square of pineapple upside down cake
paired with a small scoop of bourbon ice cream.
Wish I would have thought to get a picture!

Cooper has been wearing his little sweater for his
morning and evening walks.
It's been chilly in the morning!

Earlier last week I saw that Howard and Linda Payne,
from RV-Dreams, were in California.
They were our mentors when we started out on the road.
They recently sold their 40' fifth wheel and
have downsized to a class C, towing their jeep.

I got in touch with them to let them know we
were working at Yanks RV Resort,
and would be here for awhile.
They decided to stay here for 3 nights.
It wasn't out of their way as they do their fall travels.

Friday afternoon they checked in,
and after work we all went out for Mexican food.

Saturday both of them relaxed and did some work
while we worked our jobs.
We invited them over to see our fifth wheel,
as Linda said 'a mansion compared to their new class C'.
We shared a bottle of wine, and they met Cooper.

Sunday George and I got off a bit early,
and took them up to Hahn to do some wine tasting.
We had a great time!

Linda bought a bottle of wine,
and we set outside until the sun set.
Thanks to Howard for taking pictures!

Afterward we made our way to the local pizza place,
where we laughed about life as we ate.

Monday they left to head south on their travels.
We gave them hugs and vowed to not let so much time go by again.
It sure didn't feel like 5 years since we'd seen them last!

George and I have made plans for Thanksgiving.
We'll be going out with Mom, and our friends Connie & Greg.

Life is so good!!
