Tishomingo, MS
One of the reasons we left California
to head towards Pennsylvania
was to stop in Mississippi
at the Vilano service center.
The VanLeigh customer service is second to none.
Since we picked it up in April,
there have been a few minor issues that needed to
be taken care of.
We made an appointment for Monday, Oct 2nd.
Happily we were able to pull into a full hook up spot
on Sunday, to be ready for Monday.
They have 10 service bays there..
Had to have a decal replaced. Jeff does a great job!
In one of the bays.
We ended up staying in the bay one night.
Couldn't watch TV because no satellite reception.
Had to talk to each other :-)
There were several other Vilanos in the bays,
all getting various things done.
Had the opportunity to meet Leigh Tiffin,
one of the owners of the 5th wheel operation.
He is Bob Tiffin's grandson.
On Tuesdays VanLeigh has tours of their
manufacturing plant in Burnsville, MS.
We took a ride up to check out how they're made.
The guy in the white shirt and jaunty cap
is Bryan Powers, Technical Support Manager.
Great tour guide!
This guy is putting the moisture barrier under the floor joists.
Bryan explaining to the guys about all the wiring,
hoses, sensors, etc that are under the floor.
Floor already for the cabinetry.
There is flooring under everything..cool!
This is the back of the shower unit..
Front cap, where the closet is..the bedroom.
This process is where they put solid foam insulation
in the walls..
The roof!
Bryan explaining the roof structure.
All aluminum struts,
with insulation in between each strut.
Different models in various stages..
This wall holds the entertainment center, pantry, and cooking area.
Almost complete!
We really enjoyed the tour, it was great to see
the quality of the unit as it's manufactured.
Tonight we are in Cullman, Alabama.
Phyllis and Len East have graciously let us moochdock
here for a couple of days to have some fun with them!
Nice tour, that certainly must underscore in your minds that you bought the right RV. They allow you right down on the factory floor to get up close views of the builds is amazing, not all manufacturers do that.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful and quality unit. Gives our yard some class .
ReplyDeleteGreat tour. They usually won't allow pictures in other factories. They look like it's well made.
ReplyDeleteWe toured the Heartland factory in Elkhart - was very interesting. I was just glad Bill didn't find out something to make us regret getting it!
ReplyDeleteThat's great to see exactly how your rig was put together. Must make you feel confident in its quality. Safe travels on your way.
ReplyDeleteHi just wanted to give you a quick heads up and let you know
ReplyDeletea few of the images aren't loading correctly.
I'm not sure why but I think its a linking issue. I've tried it
in two different internet browsers and both show the same outcome.
