Working away

Yanks RV Resort
Greenfield, CA

We're enjoying our jobs at Yanks!
It's nice to work in an air conditioned office
when the temps have been in the triple digits this week!

The office/store here is so nice!

Just the right amount of products to help out campers.

My schedule now is Friday through Monday,
and George helps outside Friday through Sunday.
Now HE gets a 'me' day :-)

Our schedule means no church on Sunday,
but we still go up to Salinas to be with Mom
at least once a week.

Tomorrow I'm going to lunch with a girlfriend,
and finally getting a haircut and pedicure.

Our friends Greg & Connie are gone for a month,
back east seeing family,
we miss our time together!

You're hired!

Yanks RV Resort
Greenfield, CA

God does answer prayers!
As we decided to stay in California a bit longer,
we've been here at Yanks off and on since September.
We've always told them in the office that
we are workampers, and could always use a job.

Lucky for us, they've decided to hire us on!

We only have to work 20 hours each for our site,
and in addition to that,
get paid for all hours worked!

They asked George if he would work 4 days a week,
which he was happy to do.
His job is escorting, filling propane,
and keeping the grounds looking nice.

They had us move to a new site,
and what a nice site it is!
We have a view of the mountain,
brown though it is..

There's green space next to us too.

Right now I'm working in the office 2 days a week,
checking in guests and making reservations.

Such a lovely park, and wonderful people to work for!

We're still spending time with Mom on days we're off.
My son Adam and fiance Jennifer came down for dinner,
and to see the RV.
I forgot all about taking pictures!

George and I found a great little lunch spot in King City
called Cork & Plough.

We are still really loving the weather here,
perfect temps, no rain,
and nice vistas.

What? Still in California!?

Yanks RV Resort
Greenfield, CA

Good thing that RVers plans are made of Jello,
or as our RVer friend Paul Dahl says,
Semper Gumby (or good thing we are flexible!)

Last week we were saying our good byes to
friends, family, and getting together one last time.
Sunday we went to Pastor Hoff's retirement party
at the church.
There were some tears shed as we said goodbye
to everyone there, including Pastor.
He will be sorely missed!

They are heading up to Olympia, WA where they bought a lovely home.
Maybe we'll be in Washington someday, lovely place to visit!

In the meantime I have not been feeling right about leaving
the area quite yet.
We had accepted a job in San Antonio,
and I dreaded calling to back out.

My Mom is okay, getting independent.
We're still helping her out by cleaning every couple of weeks,
and George has been fixing things in her apartment as needed.

We're still at Yanks RV Resort for the time being.
George keeps trying to get us a job here!

To all of you that we hoped to visit,
we definitely need to leave here after Labor Day.
I have doctor appointments that have to be
attended to in Amarillo.
We are also going to be in Pennsylvania sometime in October,
and then try to find a winter job in the south.

Hopefully we'll have more updates!
