White Sulphur Springs, MT
It was a pretty quiet week, but with a few interesting moments.
Tuesday there was a fire in the Deep Creek Canyon.
It's about 23 miles from here, but the smoke
caused ash to fall all over the place.
The road was closed for awhile.
Unfortunately it's the main route to Helena.
It was out by the end of the week.
We had several summer rain storms,
which always make for lovely rainbows..
The biggest excitement was the
which was Thursday through Sunday.
The campground was full!
There was a shuttle that came around
picking up people every 20 minutes
to take them to the festival.
Seemed like everyone had a good time,
judging from the noise when they came back :-)
Today it's back to normal, there's a mass exodus.
It is raining today, so not much going on for us.
We made reservations to stay in Whitefish August 20-22,
so we can explore Glacier for a few days.
I cannot wait to see it!
You are going to LOVE Glacier. I hope the fires there don't impact it too much. I heard Going to the Sun road was closed. Such a shame. Did you get ash all over you? I take it you didn't go to Red Ants. Not a bad price for the week-end but I only knew 3 in the lineup. Guess it's my age or too busy to listen to the radio any more. Nice that they did a shuttle.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to read your blog on Glacier...LOVE that place! I love the west side, but the east side is my favorite...Many Glacier and Two Medicine. Such beauty! We enjoyed the boat rides. Have fun!
ReplyDeleteHopefully no red ants came back in anyone's pants from that festival. Have fun in Glacier, we haven't gotten there yet, so we'll have to enjoy it from your blog. ;c)
ReplyDeleteGlad the fire is out and didn't spread to your area. The pictures are amazing but scary at the same time. Of course the rainbow pics are always nice. Enjoy Glacier!!
ReplyDeleteIf you could just get over those rainbows you would be in Oz or maybe find the pot of gold.
ReplyDeleteLOVE ALL THE PICTURES. Red Ants?!? Sounds like FUN!
