White Sulphur Springs, MT
There's been a lot of rain since we've been here,
making our days off somewhat limited.
Even this evening, a big thunderstorm went over..
As you can see, the campground is pretty empty still.
Gordon tells us when the weather breaks, it will get full :-)
Earlier this week when it wasn't raining,
we took a ride to Newlan Creek Reservoir.
It's only about 14 miles from the campground,
and looks like a nice place to put the Sea Eagle in this summer.
The drive there was beautiful, as always.
Also was the view from the dam..
We caught a picture of this guy.
I wasn't sure what it was until I got a nice shot
of him with my telephoto.
I looked him up, and I think it's a Swainson's Hawk.
Anyone else confirm that?
This afternoon there was a party for Gordon & Sally.
Today is their 45th anniversary!
There was a very nice cake, and ice cream, and banana pudding :-)
Their church members came to celebrate as well.
Lyddia and I helped serve the cake & ice cream...

Lyddia, Sally, me |
and Blanche manned the phones in case they rang :-)
We're getting to hear the melodic sounds of the Meadowlark
right behind our site..
Life is good in Montana!
Amazingly beautiful country.

ReplyDeleteGlad you're enjoying Big Sky Country. It is such a beautiful state. It's been way too long since we've been there, so we're very jealous of you. Guess we'll have to get our fix via your posts! :cD
ReplyDeleteIt's been raining here a lot. Finally had 2 days without rain or snow! Enjoy your summer. Looks like a great place.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful place! You sure do find great places to work camp!
ReplyDeleteThinking it's raining most everywhere. Even in your old part of the country.
ReplyDeleteArea looks great. If the money wasn't so great where we are, we would consider giving that area a try.
ReplyDeleteSure looks beautiful, and how nice to have a Meadowlark living close by to serenade you.
