Bakersfield, CA
After lots of miles of driving,
we finally have landed for a few nights at
New Year's eve we spent the night in a parking lot
at
Wild Horse Pass Casino in Chandler, AZ.
We got ahold of some friends of ours that live in Chandler.
Donna & Frank worked with us at Coyote RV resort
a few years back.
They are selling their motorhome, and have moved back into their house.
They came by and we went into the casino for a late lunch..
It was sure nice to catch up with them!
When they left, we decided to sign up for the comps
so we could play some slots for a few minutes.
Of course, we played on their money for all of 15 minutes before it was gone :-)
Once we were back in the RV around 7 pm,
we dressed warmly in jammies and crawled under the covers to keep warm.
Our bedroom TV runs on the batteries,
so I watched a little of the New Year's Eve festivities
until about 9 pm, and fell asleep.
Thursday we decided it was best to drive from there
straight through to Bakersfield,
where we had reserved a spot for the weekend.
We called and added an additional night.
George and I plan on spending some time
with my aunt & uncle and cousins.
Monday we'll be leaving here and going to our new spot
at Coyote Valley RV resort where we'll be workamping until May.
Wow you have really hot footed it across the country. Hope you are warm in Bakersfield and will be at Coyote Valley. Happy New Year to you both and thanks so much for being such a loyal commenter. I really appreciate it.
ReplyDeleteHappy and Healthy New Year to both of you !!
ReplyDeleteGlad to see y'all made it to Bakersfield with no problems. Sure been cold here the last 3-4 days.
ReplyDeleteThat is one thing I miss about the Montana. A TV runs on the 12volt. We did not realize it until one night the power went out and I noticed that red light on the TV. VIOLA! Television! No such luck with our Cedar Creek. Can't have everything I guess. Unless of course we win the Power Ball. Thinking buying a ticket would give us a better chance.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing you once you're settled. Happy and Prosperous New Year to you both.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year...it is getting harder every year to make it to midnight! Glad you made it safely to CA. Hope to see the 2 of you later this year...somewhere!
