Amazon, here we come!

Pittman Visitor Center
Altoona, FL

After a month of waiting, we finally got our phone interview with Amazon.
A very nice man named Kelly e-mailed us separately telling us
to call and schedule an interview.
He indicated that my application was incomplete!
George gave him a call, and I also talked to him.
Seems there was some sort of mix-up,
but he did a bit of research, and everything is fine :-)
The interview process was very easy,
asking if we could stand several hours (10-12!),
climb stairs, and follow rules.
No problem!

The job will be located at one of their distribution centers
in Campbellsville, KY
We don't know exactly which department we'll be in yet.
There are several, including receiving, picking, packing, and so on.
We did request day shift which is 6 am to 4:30 pm,
and want to start right after Labor Day if possible.

We are looking forward to working with quite a few of our RV friends there.
Not sure how much socializing we'll be doing.
We'll be working 4 days a week, and as it gets busy,
overtime kicks in, and another day will be added.
It will all be worth it as our bank account grows!

  1. That's great Laurie. I hope you both like it - well at least don't dislike it. Will you be working 3.5 months? From Labor Day to Christmas?? What's up for you guys for the summer? Uh-oh questionitis has set in. Hope to see you soon.

  3. You'll probably be surprised at all the socializing you get to do! Especially towards the end, we were going out to eat with fellow campers sometimes two or three times a week. Too tired to think about cooking. :)

  4. Amazon work has always sounded like good exercise and a good way to earn extra for the rest of the years.

  5. Congrats on getting the jobs, hope to do this one of these days when we don't have Dave's old job to go back to every summer. Looking forward to hearing about your experience.

  6. I know this old body could not take it. I am exhausted come Thursday's after only working 6 hours a day Mon-Thurs. And those projects only last 3 weeks. Am I ever out of shape!

Congrats to both of you. And to your bank account.
