More Christmas happenings..

Pittman Visitors Center
Altoona, FL

There's no shortage of things to do here :-)

We've been getting together with our new-found friends
and checking out the Christmas lights.
Saturday night we took a ride over to the Villages
to see the entertainment that they offer free every night!

We went to Sumter Landing and Spanish Village to listen to music played by a duo, then a band,
playing great country songs, oldies, and of course some Christmas songs.
It was nice to sit outside in shorts!

Yesterday we had a 'brunch' sitting outside in 80 degree weather.
We were introduced to a new way to eat omelettes.
Called 'omelette in a bag'..
Put two eggs in a freezer ziploc bag,
add chopped veggies, meats, whatever..

Then drop it into boiling water for 15 minutes..

Viola, instant omelette!

We all contributed different brunch items..
hash brown casserole, biscuits & gravy,
fresh fruit, and bloody marys.

We all had a great time!

It's back to work in the forest this morning.
Supposed to be 85 degrees today,
but a 'cold' front is coming through tonight,
dropping temps to the mid 60's tomorrow.
Brrr.. :-)

  2. We need to plan to get together too. We are in Chiefland which I think is maybe 40 miles from you. I don't think we are far from Gail and Rick.

  4. From you post and the comments it sounds like you two are in high demand! :-)
We'll be down in Nakomis after the holidays. I don't think that's very close to you unfortunately so I guess we'll miss out on all this planned fun. DARN!

  7. We made omlettes in a bag with the scouts a few years ago. Enjoy the nice weather. Wish it was a little warmer here.
