J. Strom Thurmond Lake
Appling, GA
We don't see too much change in color,
but the leaves are starting to fall around us.
The daytime temps are holding steady in the 70's,
but the nighttime temps are getting a bit lower.
We are enjoying relaxing at our site here at the lake.
So far we are okay here until the 21st, unless congress figures out what they are doing.
I'm happy to say that the ant situation is under control.
The little buggers loved the Terro..ate it and left, never to return :-)
George did some preventative maintenance outside..
Yesterday we found a great laundromat to get wash done..
Later in the afternoon, we were invited over to 'Volunteer Village'
to dine with our friends!
Paul grilled some steak, and Marti made some great little potatoes, and corn on the cob.
Terri brought a 'warm from the oven' cherry pie,
and we brought a 'cold from Wal-Mart' Key Lime Pie :-)
We had a great time talking about everything under the sun!
As it got a bit later, Paul started a fire,
and we sat around chatting some more,
and roasted a marshmallow or two.
We really enjoyed our evening with all of them!
I'm sure we'll get together a few more times before we get kicked out :-)
Today looks like a great day for a hike.
George and I are riding our bikes down to the Bartram Trailhead
and checking it out!
Everything was yummy! It was a fun night!!
ReplyDeleteRoasting marshmallows over an open fire....oh, yum. And good company to boot.
