Finally sitting for a few days

West Branch State Park
Ravenna, OH

We finally have landed in a place where we can relax for a few days.
After making our way across the US,
which is about 20 miles from Akron, OH.
It is a huge 2650 acre lake.
We have a nice site, electric only..

You can see the lake behind the trees behind us..

One of the reasons for staying here, is to visit our friends Greg & Connie.
They live in Akron!
We became friends with them while they were staying at Coyote Valley RV Park
where we were workamping last winter.

After getting settled yesterday, we drove to their house to visit.
We went out for pizza to a place called Marie's..

We had a great time catching up!
George and I will be exploring the park a bit today,
then we're heading back over there to grill some steaks tonight.

Nice to have friends all over the country!

  1. That looks like a really nice state park. We are always leery of trying state parks because we are so used to the upstate ones with tight spaces and roads. Glad that you are getting a chance to sit for a few days and enjoy yourselves. :)

  5. I can relate to the good feeling of being stationary for a few days. So many times I look into state parks but find they can't take rigs our size. Guess I need to keep on looking as you found one. But we have been in a couple in PA that are more than suitable.

BTW, Len found there is a dumpster behind this casino so the stinky problem was solved.

  10. It is wonderful to have friends to visit. It takes us to places we otherwise might go. I am glad to hear my natal state has nice state parks. My family never went to them when I was a kid sadly.

  12. It is always nice to catch up with friends. That is the reason Judy and I are making this excursion up to Virginia. We hope to reconnect with many friends we have not seen in quite sometime.
