Final weekend in PA

Silver Valley Campsites
Saylorsburg, PA

I have to say we've had some fun since I posted last~

Thursday we did some running around.
Stopped by and saw the granddaughters again..

and sat and discussed our future with our financial planner.

Friday I had a recheck of my blood pressure, and it's looking much better.
He gave me a 'tsk tsk' about my cholesterol, and put me on meds to lower that.
I fought it kicking and screaming, I HATE taking meds,
but when I told him I wasn't pleased with the side effects from statins,
he said 'the side effects from a stroke are much worse' :-)

That evening we headed down to Hazleton, where I used to live,
and got a haircut from my favorite hairdresser..

She did notice that I have salt & pepper hair now :-)

I also went to dinner with my friend, Karen.
We had so much fun, that I forgot to take a picture!
George dropped us off at the restaurant,
and went to Subway to give us time to chat.
How thoughtful!

Saturday we again drove to Wilkes-Barre.
We finally got the offer on the flooded house!
George had to sign some documents.
Woo hoo!

Back at the campground,
some friends of ours decided to book the weekend in their trailer.
I worked with Chris at the water company.
It was fun to spend time with his wife Gayle, and daughter Baylee!

Baylee enjoyed the playground..

and the game room..

We enjoyed the early fall weather..nice and warm still!

We got together later, and had some dinner..
barbecued burgers & dogs..
Mr. Gnome enjoyed it!

Heather made a surprise visit too!

After dinner, we strolled over to the clubhouse where there was an ice cream social..

and later that evening there was a 'Blink Parade'

With the sum total of 2 golf carts and 1 hay wagon,
all lit up.
Was funny :-)

This morning before Chris & family left,
we walked over and had breakfast in the clubhouse.
Pumpkin pancakes for $4.00,
and breakfast casserole for $5.00.
Was good!

Today we're getting ready to pack up and go.
Tomorrow we'll be driving south, making our way to the RV-Dreams rally!

  1. Sounds like you've been having a lot of FUN with family, friends, and your financial planner! :)
Good news about the flooded house, it will be nice to have that behind you and be done with it. Have fun at the RV-Dreams rally and say "HI" to Howard and Linda for us.

  5. Looks like you have had a wonderful time at "home". So glad the offer came through and you can close the door on that. Add me to the "Say Hi to Howard and Linda" group. Wish we could come. David has doctor appointments in Virginia that we are working our way toward. Hope you'll post about it all so I can be envious and see what I missed.

  6. We've had a financial planner for 20 years. Sure did help us get on track so the retirement years are a little less stressful.

I tried to take meds for high cholesterol back in Jan. Kept passing out. Ended up in ER. Never again. But good to know what I am extremely allergic to. Trusting you're able to better handle them.

    Safe travels south.

  8. Great news about the house, I just call them hard earned natural highlights. Hope the meds help, I've been blessed with low cholesterol but Dave has to keep an eye on his. Safe travels, we hope to one day make an RV-Dreams Rally, for now the timing isn't working out, priority is getting west to see our boys we haven't seen in two years.
