A few days visiting

Betabel RV Park
San Juan Bautista, CA

We made the drive from Camping World in Redding, CA
to our site here at Betabel RV Park yesterday.
It took 5.5 hours to drive down I-5, over Route 152, then down Highway 101 to the park.

It was nice to have free electric at Camping World.
The slide was adjusted, and we found out that the truck had an EGR valve go bad.
Thank goodness for extended warranty - that repair was covered!

Now we have a great site, #99, at Betabel.
This park is 20 minutes closer to my parents house from
Coyote, where we workamped last winter.

Today we drove down to Mom & Dad's house to spend the day.
Mom made some wonderful cinnamon buns for breakfast :-)
We had a nice day chatting and talking a bit about the future,
and George got to wash the truck in their big driveway.
It's not going to be an easy road for either of them.
My Father will begin chemo treatments in a week,
but has decided that if his quality of life is decreased,
he can stop the treatments at any time.
He has a great peace about all of this..
I really admire that.

Tomorrow we'll visit some more. My son, Adam and I are going to cook dinner
for both my parents, and will give Adam some time to talk too!

  1. Glad the repairs all came out good. And being able to get the truck washed, too, an added bonus.

Enjoy your time visiting, your dad is a strong man. God bless him.

  4. If I ever should face such a challenge, I hope that I have your Dad's strength and faith. As Christians, we know that this world is only a glimpse of the great things to come, so peace is something that we can all embrace. Your Dad will be in our thoughts and prayers!

  5. It is great to be able to spend time with your parents before you head East. I have been following your blog my husband & I are from Lititz, PA. We moved to CA 5 years ago to live closer to our son in Modesto. I relate to your comments on selling a business as I had done that before coming west. We were at a RV Dream Rally last fall in Oregon and I know you will have a great time in NC. We are preparing to go full-time - we are living in our RV in Chowchilla CA as we sold our home so fast!! We would love to meet up with you and George if you have any free time while in CA and pick your minds on full timing!! We do not live too far from Gilroy area. Thanks and have a great visit.

  7. Sounds like all of your RV/Truck issues came out just great. I'm glad you are able to be with your parents. I know it means a lot to all of you. Cancer is a scary and difficult disease but it is possible to go into remission after the hard road of treatment. Your father is in our thoughts for the easiest road and the best possible outcome. Being at peace and not fearful will help him a great deal through all of this I know.
