Wine tasting in Amador Valley

Loomis RV Park
Loomis, CA

George, MJ, her husband Mike, and I took off this morning for a day of fun.
Mike drove, and we ventured up highway 50 to the Amador Valley.
There are quite a few wineries up there to visit.
We stopped at a Raley's market and bought sandwiches to take with us.

We stopped first at Sobon Estate..

Their wines were pretty good, so we left with a couple bottles :-)

Next stop was a great little place called Dobra Zemlja.
They are from Croatia :-)

The tasting room dude was full of stories..

We checked out a few more..

The weather was perfect..temps were just right..

It was nice to sit and have our lunch outside..

One of our favorite wineries was this little gem..

and we loved this little guy who greeted us there..

It was another great day with friends.

We are meeting them tonight for dinner,
then tomorrow it is travel day again.

Looks like we'll be staying in a Camping World tomorrow night,
so they can take a look at why our satellite & receiver are not working correctly.

After that, we are anxious to be by Mt. Shasta!

  1. Four or five wineries? If you bought a couple of bottles from each place you should be set for a day or two. :-))

  2. The residents of California will breathe a sigh of relief when you finally leave the state. Seems like you've single handedly supported the entire wine industry. Hopefully, you've left a couple of bottles for the residents to buy...

  6. Love touring wineries and we are not even big wine drinkers. But we do manage to buy a bottle or two on each tour.
