The original California wine country

Coyote Valley RV Resort
Morgan Hill, CA

We finally had a day to do something fun!
George and I, and our friends Greg & Connie,
took a drive up to Napa, about 2 hours north.
We did stop and have breakfast on the way at Scramblz.

Our first stop was Domaine Chandon.

They have some very good sparkling wines.

We were a bit taken aback by the $20 per person tasting fee.
For that we got 5 tastes..period..between both of us!
Not to mention that it didn't even come off a purchase of a bottle.
Now, I know that every winery isn't that expensive,
and not every winery charges to taste..but we all thought that was a little excessive.

They had some beautiful grounds..

We also walked around some shops in Yountville..

One winery we could all agree on was Beringer..

We got a great deal of a tour of the wine caves,
a barrel tasting, and a wine tasting 101 tutorial
all for just $40 per person.

A great time was had by all, with lots of laughs.
On the way home, we stopped at a great place
for dinner called Claim Jumper.
No pictures of the great food we had,
but..
George and Connie couldn't resist a fast game of checkers..

  3. $20...I would have to be given a whole bottle for that price. I'm not a wine drinker so I guess I would not even want the bottle LOL.

Gosh, I haven't played checkers in forever! Not sure I'd even remember how to play.
