More socializing

Coyote Valley RV Resort
Morgan Hill, CA

One week to go!

Next week is our last week of workamping here at the resort.
We continue to finish up some doctor appointments,
and some socializing with family and friends.

Wednesday we were invited down to Adam & Candee's apartment,
where he grilled some steaks for us.

I took a couple pictures of their apartment, it's cute!
I failed to get any others. I guess we were having too much fun :-)

We've been spending some time with resort friends,
mostly by the pool, or in the hot tub.

Thursday, my Mom & Dad came up to visit.
We took them out to lunch to Sweet Tomatoes..
we hope to find that chain in other states..it's good!

Today we are taking another drive down to Phil's Fish Market.
George & I are meeting up with the gentleman that is interested
in buying the water company I worked and still consult for.

Sunday I am going down to church with my parents..
and George will cover the shift as it is from 2-10 pm.
Wednesday is our last work day..
and Tuesday the resort is having a burger/dog/wine tasting..
and going-away bash :-)
Stay tuned for the last week's preparations..
then on to Yosemite!

Another night at Phil's Fish Market

Coyote Valley RV Resort
Morgan Hill, CA

Our time in this area is winding down.
Two weeks from today we'll be finally moving on
to another place.

Before we leave northern CA, there are still a few
things we want to do, and some people to spend time with.

We have been enjoying taking some friends to
our favorite place to eat..Phil's Fish Market.

One of the other workampers, Denise, and her husband, Keith
have been wanting to go there.
We took off after our 8-4 shift today.

It wasn't very crowded, and we got seated quickly.

I got a wonderful clam chowder in a bread bowl..

and a Mexican Shrimp Cocktail..

George got his favorite..
spaghetti & meatballs :-)

The best part was the entertainment..
a great bluegrass band was playing..

We all shared some strawberry shortcake, with fresh local strawberries..

It was so much fun!!

Poolside fun

Coyote Valley RV Resort
Morgan Hill, CA

This California weather has been fabulous!
Our temperatures have been in the 80's this week,
with nary a cloud in the sky.

Yesterday we gave a fond farewell to Greg & Connie..

They were headed to Yosemite, then eventually
making their way back to Ohio for the summer.
We'll miss them! George and I have plans to stop
and see them as we make our way to the east coast in the fall.

I'm still doing quite a bit of spreadsheet work for the company.
However...I make time for some of this beautiful weather.

Yesterday afternoon we joined some of the workampers
for some sun n' fun by the pool.

Time with family

Coyote Valley RV Resort
Morgan Hill, CA

Been another busy week!

Sunday I drove down to Mom & Dad's to attend church with them.
The campground here changed our schedule around so much,
we've had to scramble to fit in our social time.
George worked the shift so I could visit and attend worship.

Monday through Tuesday was spent working the late afternoon/early evening shift.
Not much changes, but the night shift isn't as busy, so there is mostly patrolling the
campground once an hour or so.
We had some cool people stay a few nights, and found them serenading
a couple from Canada. The Canadians are in a singing group as well,
and loved listening to a different countries music :-)

Today was the highlight of the week so far..
my son, Adam, and his girlfriend, Candee,
came up for a visit.

We gave them a tour of Harvey, and had a nice visit.

Adam brought and grilled hamburgers, and I made guacamole.

We took a walk around the park for a bit, showing off our home :-)
I decided to show them some old pictures of Adam growing up,
I had them on CD's..they got a kick out of them.

Later this evening we grilled some chicken, potatoes & onions, and turkey sausage.

Adam threw together a salad for us..

It was a good dinner!
It was a nice night, so we wandered over to the hot tub..

We loved spending time with them!

The original California wine country

Coyote Valley RV Resort
Morgan Hill, CA

We finally had a day to do something fun!
George and I, and our friends Greg & Connie,
took a drive up to Napa, about 2 hours north.
We did stop and have breakfast on the way at Scramblz.

Our first stop was Domaine Chandon.

They have some very good sparkling wines.

We were a bit taken aback by the $20 per person tasting fee.
For that we got 5 tastes..period..between both of us!
Not to mention that it didn't even come off a purchase of a bottle.
Now, I know that every winery isn't that expensive,
and not every winery charges to taste..but we all thought that was a little excessive.

They had some beautiful grounds..

We also walked around some shops in Yountville..

One winery we could all agree on was Beringer..

We got a great deal of a tour of the wine caves,
a barrel tasting, and a wine tasting 101 tutorial
all for just $40 per person.

A great time was had by all, with lots of laughs.
On the way home, we stopped at a great place
for dinner called Claim Jumper.
No pictures of the great food we had,
but..
George and Connie couldn't resist a fast game of checkers..
