Tucson, AZ
Yesterday we decided to explore around Tucson.
First we found a local laundromat, so that I
could wash the big quilt that sits on the foot of our bed.
Then, while I got a pedicure at a great little nail salon,
George relaxed at a local Dunkin' Donuts.
He's so happy to have found one! :-)
We found out that this weekend is the
With great directions from a customer
at the nail salon, we decided to check it out!
The fair was blocks long...
and packed!
It was so crowded we couldn't
even see too many of the crafts.
George did notice the cute girls getting
hugged by the Gingerbread Man :-)
The fair food was very expensive,
even if it all looked very good.
We opted out of that,
but were really hungry for some
local, authentic, good Mexican food.
The power of Yelp led us to a great
little place called
Mariscos El Sinaloa.
It was delicious!
We shared some shredded beef nachos,
and a taco combination plate.
We didn't share our beer :-)
Today after lounging around until noon (!)
I talked George into a good bike ride.
We rode both campground loops,
and then to the trail head,
and back..for a total of almost 5 miles.
It felt good!
One more day in Tucson,
and there are a few trails that I want to hike.
Better do that tomorrow!
Such a dirty old man, that Gingerbread guy!
ReplyDeleteHard not to love Tucson, isn't it? :c)
what a great day....that was some busy street fair...wow
ReplyDeleteDon't you love Yelp for help in finding good restaurants? I keep forgetting to put reviews on there when they lead me to good ones. Like RV Park reviews, I feel like I'm not doing my part there either. Haven't been to Tucson so I'm enjoying seeing it with you.
ReplyDeleteLove authentic Mexican food! Dos Equis too :)
ReplyDeleteOMG lounging til noon!!! retirement is starting to set in.)
ReplyDeleteDon't know which was the better find, a good laundromat or the nail salon! Maybe was the Dunkin Donuts.
ReplyDeleteThere is a great micro-brewery in Tucson called Nimbus. One of our favs. I loved Catalina State park. Enjoy Tucson
ReplyDeleteDunkin' Donuts and good Mexican food are always a good find!
