Poking around Pensacola

Fort Pickens Campground
Gulf Islands National Seashore, FL

Today we had made plans
to go into Pensacola and
see some of the sights there.

Our first stop was  the:

Now, I'm not one for this kind of museum..
but indulged George a bit.
I did find it kind of cool though :-)
I was amazed at all the different types
of planes, helicopters, and
other combat planes there were.

George liked the hands-on experience..

..but I enjoyed the personal stories
of the POW's..

We took a flight line tour on a trolley..

where a tour guide told us about
many aircraft that have been retired..

Our next stop was to the
Pensacola Lighthouse

There are 177 stairs to the top..

and we did all of them!

The view from the top was fabulous!

We could even see where we walked yesterday..

For dinner we met up with
at a great little place called
The Oar House.

We had a great meal, great
conversation, and a good time!
