Carlyle Lake, IL
We had an uneventful departure
from Platte City, MO.
We have been driving 5 hours
between campgrounds,
which won't be our normal
(I hope!)
George and I have settled
into a great routine of hooking up,
and hitting the road no later than
10 am.
Today we traveled a little over 5 hours,
went across the whole state of Missouri,
and ended up in the bottom third
of Illinois.
We crossed the Missouri river
several times..
several times..
Wow that view is beautiful, I could stay somewhere like that forever too!
ReplyDeleteI said it before and I'll say it again, WOW!

Yep, that's why we loved our first COE park. They will be high on our list from now on.
ReplyDeleteNow THAT'S an awesome spot. I couldn't help but notice the hardwood you're burning. Somebody make a little miscalculation installing a baluster? Looks like there's some handrail in there too. Good stuff to burn though.
ReplyDeleteThe COE parks usually have nice size sites and are cheap with the "Golden Age" passes or similar passes. Do ya'l have the pass. Do you have a generator, I can't remember if you do or not.
ReplyDeleteWhat a view!
ReplyDeleteWait till see you more! You'll want to stay forever in a LOT of places, lol! :-)
ReplyDeleteCOE's in IL are wonderful. We will be staying at Rend Lake near Benton IL for the next two weeks. We are meeting up with friends that we met at Gulf Shores AL last winter, and friends we haven't met yet. Feel free to come on over. We are arriving today at South Marcum camping area. The gang doesn't arrive until after the weekend, but we like to spend time there so we are going early.
ReplyDeleteWow. What a beautiful view. :) That's sure a nice front yard to wake up to.
ReplyDeleteYou are seeing the great thing about COE parks. . .normally the views are wonderful. . .the not so great, in our opinion, no sewer hookups. . . .waaaaa. . .but we love them for a two or three day stay. . .as a matter of fact, we're staying in one in East Texas in a couple of weeks. . .
