I got a nice surprise today..
the gang at work threw together
a going away luncheon for me!
George was even in on it :)
I had not one clue what they
were up to.
They sent me out today to
pick up some things at Sam's club.
While I was gone, the caterers came,
and set up the food in our lunchroom.
The guys in the plant even
worked through lunch today,
and got the orders out early,
so they could be a part of it.
and fun & laughter.
My production manager
came into my office later,
and handed me a bag
and said it was from he & his wife.
I opened it and burst out laughing..
it's PERFECT..
a miniature crystal ball!
I'm famous for replying when
asked one of those hundreds of
questions about 'whatever'
"I don't know, my crystal ball isn't plugged in today!"
Two more days left of work..
It's starting to get emotional.
I told everyone that I don't want
to see any tears..or I will start!
Even some of the guys warned me
they may get emotional :-)
Enjoy your last few days. I know you will not miss the work and stress but you will miss the people.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful surprise! You will miss them all for sure what a nice send off....
ReplyDeleteIt is nice to be appreciated and missed. The clock continues to tick down.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great surprise! It's pretty obvious that you're going to really be missed :)
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful to know you are so loved at your work. I don't think there are many people who have jobs like that any more. You clearly have made a mark on the entire company.
ReplyDeleteDoesn't it feel wonderful to know that you have made a difference in the lives of so many people? It's so hard to leave it all behind, but think of all the new and wondrous adventures and friends that are waiting for you on the road!
ReplyDeleteThat's so nice! It's a great feeling to be appreciated like that.
ReplyDeleteYou are loved. :c)
ReplyDeleteYou really are looking good. I like your hair,.
ReplyDeleteIt's a bitter-sweet thing leaving work. I don't miss the work itself, but certainly miss the people from time to time. If it hurts to leave, you know it was a good place to be.
ReplyDeleteHow sweet of them to throw you a party.
ReplyDeleteI will be following your adventure with excitement.
My husband and I are in the process right now of selling stuff. We have almost 4 years before my husband retires. We will sell everything and go FULL timing. We don't own an RV but have rode across country on the Harley twice from here in northern NY and loved it.
Have fun and I'll be following,
Susie
Hate to tell you that your post made me tear up! So happy for you and George! Let's see...oh crystal ball...where should we travel to today? It is going to be so much fun!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun party! Love those flamingos on the cake. These last days will be emotional and I am sure a few tears will be shed for those people you will miss but in the end it will be worth it. By the time you get to California you will be seasoned RVers and ready for all the adventures ahead. :)
ReplyDeleteNice party, we also had cake this morning and guys are putting on a pulled porkfest tonight(my last). It is always about the people we have worked with that will leave good memories.
ReplyDeletePS.- You should be hitting Wi. at almost peak color.
sweeeeet.....
ReplyDeleteI would bet there were tears today!
