Some good news!

Today was another nice day.

We cleaned up Harvey on the inside,
did our grocery shopping,
got the laundry done,
then spent some nice time
outside in the fresh air.

We grilled our favorite meal,
shish kabob.

We didn't eat them all,
there were a lot leftover,
for lunches this week.

George & I also decided it
was time to get away
for the weekend..
so, next weekend,
we are going to
Wellesboro, PA
to stay at the
We stayed there last year
at this time. It's a nice
bed & breakfast up
on a mountain.

While we are there, we
are going to meet up with
Jill & Steve of
They are workamping at
Tioga-Hammond lake campground,
which is just outside Wellesboro.
I love reading Jill's blog,
and we can't wait to meet them!

Oh yeah, for the good news!

We got our letter from the
Luzerne County Flood Protection Authority.

The next step is the appraisal to determine
the pre-flood value of the property,
and then the process of the buyout begins!

Though our countdown shows that
we are targeting September 1 to leave,
it may be within a month or so after that date.

Either way, that light at the end of
the tunnel is blinding!

  1. Boy lots of good news! Great day. Upcoming fun and the money is coming into view. And best of all only 68 days and you are retired.

  2. Exciting news! This is the beginning of the end :) Hope the process is quick, smooth and painless.
In the meantime, enjoy your mountain weekend!

  3. Great news on the appraisal! With that, your upcoming getaway, and meeting new friends, you have lots to look forward to!

  4. I see the light.... I see the light!!! Great news!!!

Maybe you will be able to join the Carolina Clan Reunion;o))

  5. And The countdown continues. I hope that we can meet again out there on the road.

  6. Great news on the buy out! Have fun on your little vacation. :)

  7. excellent news on the $$ ....have a blast on your trip next weekend...

  8. Ives Run COE campground is our absolute favorite COE campground. Wondering if your friends are working there. Hammond Lake is a lovely area for sure. If they are not working at Ives Run, take a bit of time and check it out!

    Still watching your countdown!

  9. Great to hear the light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter, and it's not a train.

Hope the appraisal goes well in your favor.

  10. We're happy things are moving in the right direction. It won't be long now! Enjoy Your getaway.

  11. Yay! Progress!! Glad to hear the process is moving along! Have you made the official notification at work? :)

  12. Enjoy your break. If you are delayed a month, you should still be able to get gone before any serious cold weather arrives.
