What does that mean,
you must ask..
We have been eating
healthier since April 1.
I got new blood work done
last week, and the results came in.
All my numbers went down!
My cholesterol dropped 10 points,
my good cholesterol went up
substantially, while the bad one
dropped as well.
I'm quite pleased!
I'm still hovering around 15# lost,
but still want to lose at least another 20#.
It comes off slow!
Today was a nice 'ME' day.
George took his daughter,
and two granddaughters out
to lunch.
Then took them out for ice cream
at Hillside Dairy, where there are
different farm animals to see..
I got to stay home by myself!
I cleaned, sat outside in the sun a bit..
and thoroughly enjoyed having
some quiet time.
When George got home,
we told each other about our days..
then went out for pizza.
I haven't had pizza for
3 months..and boy
it was worth it.
Afterwards, since it was soooo close,
we went the same Dairy to have
an ice cream, and look at the animals..
There were sheep,
alpaca,
and baby calves
Cute little place!
Tomorrow is church,
grocery shopping,
and who knows what all.
Hopefully it will be a nice
day and we can get out and about!
Sounds like fun. We won't do anything tomorrow, just read and watch the golf tournament.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your numbers! That's excellent!
ReplyDeleteSome times, you have to have a little break from a diet, it makes the ice cream taste so much better!
ReplyDeleteWhen I was married, I always enjoyed a day just to myself! Ending it with ice cream is a nice bonus!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the good numbers! It does work. I committed to having my blood work done again in three months. It has helped me stay on track. I too had a little splurge a few days after my three month blood work. Got a bit buzzed on red wine. But settled back into healthy eating easily there after.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!!! Stay on track because staying healthy is so important to enjoying the Full-time Lifestyle. Won't be long now:o)))
ReplyDeleteIt does pay off sometimes when you "aim low"! :)
ReplyDeleteThat is awesome that you had such an improvement in your numbers. I have been able to stop taking blood pressure medicine, so that has been great too!
ReplyDeleteThat countdown is ticking on - almost to 80!!
As I try to lose these pounds, I get getting really frustrated. Every time I lose 3 or 4 I have one day where I go off diet (not by a lot) and see it immediately all come back on again.
ReplyDeleteI admire your commitment. Congrats. And wow much I would love Pizza and Ice cream!
Don't think of it as a 'diet'. It is healthy eating and everything is ok as long as it is in moderation. Enjoy your ice cream and pizza and tomorrow just eat a bit more salad. Congratulations on the numbers.

Congratulations on your good numbers!! When you get those results it sure makes all the effort worthwhile!! I finally got my book and look forward to getting more healthy!!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you are doing a great job on the diet!
ReplyDeleteSometimes you just have to 'treat' yourself...glad you enjoyed !! congrats on the good numbers and weight loss...wtg
ReplyDeleteI love watching your count down clock. 80 days - you must be SO excited. When do you "retire"?? That should have a count down clock too. It's a big deal.
ReplyDeleteAhhhh pizza and ice cream my two favorite food groups. BUT you are right that it doesn't keep us healthy. I sure wish it did though.
Looks like a great day, congrats on all those good numbers!
