100 days!

So I'm looking at the countdown
on the right hand side..
..holy cow!
Our goal to full-time is only 100
days away!
4 months..

We are getting our ducks
in a row (so to speak)..

We have everything we need
for Harvey now.

All that's left is:

Complete buyout of our property**
George's first SS check on 9/14
Sell my Honda Fit
Arrange with Alternative Resources
to become SD residents
Sign up for health insurance
Resign from my job!
..and I'm sure a few other details.

**FEMA is moving forward!
They're still saying by end of
September or October we should be
all 'bought-out'.

We are getting excited!!

  2. I'm sure being bought out by FEMA is not really good luck, but at least you don't have to fix up a house and wait for it to sell.

  3. You'll love Alternative Resources, they are great. But you still have to go to SD to get your drivers license.

We got our licenses, vehicles registred and registered to vote in about 2 hours. All that is in one building at the Sioux Falls Miniehaha County Building.

    1. Oh yeah, we're well aware we need to physically go to SD. We'd like to be able to pull out of here in September, drive to SD, and return by November for the Carolina Clan :)

  6. Wow - you are into two digits now!! :) Look at how fast January to April went by and then double the speed for the summer months!! That is how fast September is going to get here!

  7. Well you know me, always late to the party so it's only 99 days now. As Jessica & Harry say you are into double digits! Hope FEMA doesn't get behinder and behinder. I'm curious as to why so many east coasters pick SD as residence rather than Florida. Are there really big advantages???

    1. We've been doing a lot of research, and with RV dreams input we decided on SD for a number or reasons. We feel that the fact you only have to return once in five years to renew DL, and the state being centrally located for us (families on both coasts!)..it made the most sense :)

  9. I ended up choosing TX for the same reasons, and it's warmer year round. I probably won't go North very often.

  10. June, July and August will fly by. Keep checking things off that list. We'll head for SD on our way back from vacation in ND in Aug.

  12. Congratulations for getting yourselves to this point. Still some big things yet to do and that might make the accomplishments all that more exciting.

  13. A week from yesterday and we will be in SD. Need to get registered to vote. This time we will be spending quite a bit of time there. You made a good choice in SD.

As I could not get time online last several days, the count now says 97! WOWEEE!
