We had to transport our bikes in George's pickup truck, and drove a couple miles to our local 'Rails to Trails'. They've converted old coal train tracks into bike/hiking trails.
For our first venture, we went 2 miles in, and 2 miles back. Not too bad for the first time on bikes since I was in my 20's!

Can't wait to find more places to bike now! Maybe take a picnic next time :)
Awesome Laurie! Looks like a great first bike ride!! :) How does your bike ride?
ReplyDeleteMy bike feels great! I was worried about my back getting sore, but with the taller handlebars, I'm not even sore!
ReplyDeleteWay to go Laurie and George. Glad you enjoyed your bikes and want to ride some more. Warning...it can become addictive, but what a great addiction!! Bill and I are always looking for new rail-trails and will add Greater Hazelton to our list. I was thinking of starting a Bike Trail topic on the RV-Dreams forum to collect great riding locations from around the country.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great idea, Nancy. For now, we are looking for areas in and around us to ride. When we finally get on the road, we'll be looking for places outside of our CG to ride.
